Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI) is an ophthalmology sub-specialty hospital of excellence, located in Obak (Centre region, Cameroon). Founded by the Africa Eye Foundation (AEF), a foreign association under Swiss law, MICEI offers high-quality ophthalmological subspecialty care (retina, glaucoma, uveitis, etc.) in line with international standards, using state-of-the-art equipment.
Through its training component, it also contributes to enhancing the skills of clinical, surgical and administrative eye health professionals, thanks to a variety of training courses.

MICEI Hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care across its wide variety of departments.
The part of a hospital designed for the treatment of outpatients, people with health problems who visit the hospital for diagnosis or treatment, but do not at this time require a bed or to be admitted for overnight care.
Hospital admitting department is responsible for the flow of patients and the processing of admissions, discharges, transfers and also most procedures.
Africa Eye Foundation (AEF) has created an ultra-modern training centre in ophthalmology and related disciplines within the Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI). After more than six (06) years of existence, the Training Centre a Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute has significant ly evolved to consolidate itself with a system of three pillars of training: initial, continuous, and specialised. This organisation offers numerous services, guaranteed by strong links with our loyal partners and trainees that go far beyond the walls of the MICEI hospital.
These Departments are capable of performing most modern investigations required to confirm a diagnosis and screen for disease, with accuracy and precision.
A hospital pharmacy is a department within a hospital that prepares, compounds, stocks and dispenses inpatient medications.
Our Optometrists are an integral part of your healthcare team. As eye care practitioners, they are skilled in the co-management of eye health and vision care.
Patients enter inpatient care mainly from previous ambulatory care such as referral from a family doctor, or through emergency departments.

The AFRICA EYE FOUNDATION (AEF)
The Africa Eye Foundation registered as a non-profit Foundation in Geneva, Switzerland, on August 12, 2010, has directed activities to design, construct, equip, staff, and commence patient care at the Magrabi ICO Cameroon Eye Institute (MICEI). With continuing oversight of MICEI, the Africa Eye Foundation Trustees have emphasised community outreach, professional training programs, development of partnerships, quality of care measures, and institutional sustainability.
